THE OY

  • Height: 6'4" Width: 21' Thickness: 2 9/16' Volume (ltr): 35.5

  • Rider ability: Intermediate to expert
  • Suitable Conditions: 2ft-6ft
  • Construction: Epoxy (EPS)
  • Template: An eggy shape which offers high volume, stability and versatility
  • Fin Plug Type: Futures
  • Fin Set up: Single fin and sides.
  • Nose: A full, round nose
  • Tail: Rounded pin

This little egg is the perfect board for Cornish and UK waves. Aimed at the intermediate to advanced surfer looking for a combination of volume and performance. The fullness within the nose and flat rocker entry helps catch waves easier and earlier, whilst the single fin and sides aids versatility. The board hosts a low rail mid-point for optimal performance and its construction consists of a single concave into a double concave at the fins with moderate tail lift.

Cruise along the line with a middle weight position, pushing your weight back for those hard bottom turns.

            GOLD LEVEL ECOBOARD PROJECT

All Dandelion Surfboards hold the GOLD level certified by The EcoBoard Project!

The ECOBOARD Project Verifies the use of Qualified Materials in boards against a set of qualifying sustainability criteria. This is the most practical and effective method to ensure that any board bearing the ECOBOARD Gold Label or Level One label: has a measurably reduced carbon footprint, uses renewable, recycled and/or up-cycled material inputs, and uses materials and processes that reduce toxicity during manufacturing.

                                  FACTORY PRACTICES

                                  • The factory where Dan at Dandelion makes his eco surfboards runs on 100% renewable energy (no fossil fuels used).
                                  • They save materials by continuous recycling within production; creating a continual fiberglass conveyor belt, re-using the surplus resin from one board on the next.
                                  • There is no mass production machinery in the workshops, all products are handcrafted to the highest quality.
                                  • Any material that leaves the factory is recycled.
                                  • All surfboards are sent using plastic-free packaging that is 100% recyclable (Flexi-Hex).

                                  About Dandelion Surfboards

"Inspired by the Cornish seascapes and coastlines, Dandelion Surfboards represent and respect the natural elements of the world that fuels us as surfers.

Wanting to give back to the environment that surrounds us, there was no question but to develop a board range that is environmentally conscious and sustainable, causing no detrimental impact to the planet. This view is seen throughout the design process, manufacture and packaging. Joining the boards back to the roots of surfing through the materials used and their relationship with the environment."
