Eco Living Compostable Sponge Cleaning Cloths - x4 Pack

£6.99

When I realised that most 'normal' kitchen sponges were made out of synthetic materials (yes plastic) and contained chemicals I was horrified and knew I needed to find something else, stat! I didn't want little bits microplastics in the water system whenever I did my washing or needed to clean my sponge.

Please note: to minimise our impact on the planet, we do not pre-wash material therefore it is normal to expect up to 10% shrinkage upon laundering the first time. To minimise shrinkage and be environmentally friendly, we suggest washing cool and hanging to dry. We also do not recommend the use of fabric conditioner as it will affect absorbency.

WHY I LOVE THESE

I can't think of anything more wasteful than using a paper towel and throwing it away after each use. Kitchen roll comes wrapped in loads of plastic that isn't recyclable and are single use :(

Switching to a cloth instead is such a simple change and you will not regret it. Wrap them around a kitchen roll holder, reuse over and over again before you even need to wash.

The best thing is, just throw them in the wash when needed and you've got 'brand new' ones again! Zero waste, plastic free and kind to your skin!

    WHAT TO USE THEM FOR

    • Wet the sponge cloth then squeeze it and use for cleaning kitchens, bathrooms and all around the house.
    • Rinse the cloth after use.
    • Wash: Dishwasher safe or washing machine. The cloths can be washed at 30-60c, line dry. Reuse over and over again, then home compostable after use.

      WHY MAKE THE CHANGE?

Did you know that a lot of cleaning sponges and cloths contain plastic (I know right, wtf!) so whilst you're scrubbing away, little parts of your chosen cleaner are breaking off and going into the water system.

That means microplastics are potentially going to end up in the ocean, just from you doing some washing up! As soon as I discovered this I switched to a plastic free sponge right away but unfortunately, the one I bought came wrapped in plastic (ahhh!).

I'm so happy that I can now offer solutions from amazing brands that send things to me plastic free that are reusable, sustainable and made to last!
