We see Spruce as a challenger to the sugary, synthetic and plastic-laden squashes and flavoured waters that have dominated our shop shelves for too long.
"I grew up loving soft drinks and miss the days when a can of Dr Pepper was 25p in the school vending machine.
As I got older and my taste buds got wiser, what I wanted started to change. At the same time, I’ve become increasingly aware of the environmental impact my decisions have.
Now I get more pleasure from drinking tap water. But I still crave something natural, light, refreshing and healthy. And I don’t want to buy plastic. When I realised this product didn’t exist, I decided to try and make it."
