Veganuary is upon us

Hello January and hello New Year! It's time for a fresh start, new adventures and maybe some new challenges. If you're someone that likes to start the new year with a  goal or a resolution then maybe this year joining the Veganuary movement will be the one for you. Never hear of Veganuary, don't worry, this blog is dedicated to this pretty awesome cause.

What is Veganuary?

Veganuary is a non-profit organisation that encourages people worldwide to try vegan for January and beyond. During the 2022 campaign, more than 620,000 people took our pledge to try a vegan diet, while more than 1,540 new vegan products and menu options were launched in our key campaign countries.

Throughout the year, Veganuary encourages and supports people and businesses alike to move to a plant-based diet as a way of protecting the environment, preventing animal suffering, and improving the health of millions of people.

How can I get involved?

Why should I get involved in Veganuary?

We are not telling you that you have to get involved, but what we're saying is should you 100% look into it and give the challenge a go. See it as a great way to explore the Vegan lifestyle and see if it's for you. There could be some amazing benefits to be felt physically and mentally.

The Veganuary mission is simple:

"We want a vegan world."

A world without animal farms and slaughterhouses. A world where food production does not decimate forests, pollute rivers and oceans, exacerbate climate change and drive wild animal populations to extinction.

Their aim is to inspire and support people to try vegan, drive corporate change, and create a global mass movement championing compassionate food choices with the aim of ending animal farming, protecting the planet, and improving human health.

The Veganuary Values

Now you know a little more about Veganuary and how you can get involved let's look at its core values. It's not just something that people are doing for a bit of fun, or to spend a little less money on their food shop. There are deep-rooted reasons why Veganuary is such an important mission to be involved in.

Impact: they are committed to a vegan world; they will utilise research to evaluate how the highest number of lives can be spared and direct resources to that end.

Empowerment: they will optimise our outreach to support and encourage people on their vegan journey in a non-judgmental, positive, constructive and easily accessible way.

Collaboration: by partnering with other mission-driven organisations and working closely with businesses, they will make a bigger difference.

Diversity and inclusion: they know that it takes people with different ideas, strengths, interests and backgrounds to achieve our vision; they appreciate the value of this and how it brings us closer to achieving our mission.

Respect and integrity: in all internal and external relationships, they will strive for genuine, honest, and transparent communication.

Resilience: they will continue to create a professional and sustainable (human, social, economic and environmental) organisation.

We have an entire Veganary blog series dropping this month, with this one being the first instalment. Our blogs will be showcasing some of our favourite vegan products because as you guys know we have some insane vegan, plastic-free products online! But, to get you started, here's a little teaser of what awesomeness we have to come!
