Issey Active has joined the Plastic Freedom family and we couldn't be happier!
Not heard of Issey Active, well in this blog post we share more information on how this sustainable activewear and loungewear brand was born, some of our favourite items from their collection and why this brand not only looks good but why it's also doing good. We are so happy to officially launch Issey Active on the site and we hope you all love it as much as we do.

Who is Issey Active?
When we find brands that align with your values then we jump at the chance to work with them, especially when they make activewear and loungewear as dreamy as these guys.
Issey Active came from Isseys own yoga journey. As with most of us, Issey lived in activewear, it was her daily routine to slide on some leggings and throw on a cute bra. Her yoga wear collection started to build as she made purchases every few months to keep up with how often she was wearing these items, not to mention some would wear down so quickly. Issey soon realised most of the brands she was buying from were huge fast fashion companies that didn’t have a great reputation for supporting sustainable fashion or ethical products.
Issey saw a gap in the market for UK-based cute and funky activewear that cared about their environmental impact.
So the 21-year-old yoga teacher from Newquay, Cornwall started her research, ready to start a whole new brand herself.
Sourcing manufacturers, fabrics, designs, and patterns, it took time to curate a full collection ready for launch (almost 3 years from starting the designs to the launch date!).
Trialling her designs on her sisters, mum and her besties. They slipped on the garments to give their honest feedback on the first-ever collection for Issey Active.
We couldn't be happier to finally stock a brand we have loved watching grow!

The Issey collection is mostly made of re-purposed ocean waste such as plastic bottles and nylon fishing nets. They are doing their best to support sustainable fashion, without breaking the bank or compromising quality, especially when it comes to activewear. All their garments are carefully designed by the best team here in the UK and manufactured over in beautiful Bali, Indonesia.
