Making your own tortillas, tacos and pitta breads can save SO much plastic over the years! I absolutely love making my own but rolling them out thin enough has always been a problem so these are perfect for the job! They take no time to make and you can freeze them when made too!

This tortilla press is made in Mexico from old Singer sewing machines and other recycled irons. Verve Culture chose to use cast iron because it gives you uniform, flat tortillas - and lasts forever. Verve Culture added some flare with a bright, FDA-friendly, lead-free paint that prevents rust, and won’t flake!

This is the best Tortilla Press for homemade Tortillas and making street tacos. Everyone Loves Tortillas. They’re easy to buy, but they come in so much plastic and I'm obsessed with the homemade ones; Chewy in the middle, crispy edges, with a delicious slightly corn-y taste!

This kit includes an authentic cast iron press which is powder-coated and used to make delicious corn (finely ground maize) tortillas, an artisan made napkin to keep the tortillas warm together with a booklet with history, directions and recipes.

FEATURES

  • Size - 6.5" diameter
  • Materials - recycled cast iron

      HOW TO MAKE TORTILLAS

      1. Mix equal parts masa corn flour (widely available in grocery stores) with water.
      2. Make a golf ball-sized dough, put it in the press, and close it.
      3. Press once, rotate, and gently press again.
      4. Cook ~1 minute on each side.
            MEET THE ARTISAN

Meet Maximo, the artisan maker behind Verve Culture's tortilla presses and the aluminum tortilla press. He handcrafts these kitchen tools to last and is proud to produce sustainably, making each piece from recycled aluminum.
