I switched to loose leaf tea as soon as I found out that tea bags contained plastic and I love it! It's super hard to actually find loose leaf tea without a plastic bag so I'm so happy that Teapigs have got the PLASTIC FREE logo as stamp of approval!

Did you know a LOT of tea bags contain plastic even if they don't look like it? I know right - this blew my mind too after I had been putting tea bags in my compost bin for at least a year!!

I switched to loose leaf tea as soon as I found out and I love it but I know a lot of people love the convenience of traditional tea bags so now Teapigs make plastic free tea bags and packaging approved with the PLASTIC FREE logo as stamp of approval I am super happy to be adding them to Plastic Freedom!

  • Tea Temples/Bags - These are made from corn starch and paper meaning it will break down in industrial composting in 12 weeks so put these in your council food waste bin
  • Inner Bag (inside the cardboard carton) - This looks like plastic but is actually made from wood pulp and can be put in your home compost bin or council food waste
  • Cardboard Box - FSC certified with vegetable ink and can be recycled in your general recycling
