The incredible Mermaid Gin from Isle of Wight Distillery is sustainable down to the last drop! It's been awarded Plastic Free status by A Plastic Planet, supports marine conservation projects and is housed in a reusable glass bottle with a natural cork lid and compostable seal!

Hand-crafted on the Isle of Wight this Mermaid pink gin at 38% abv infuses the flavour and aromatics of island strawberries with the smooth yet complex taste of the award-winning mermaid gin, a blend of lemon zest, grains of paradise and fragrant rock samphire.

        Awarded first place in the IWSC Design Awards, Mermaid Gin has been awarded the Plastic-Free standard by A Plastic Planet, as certified by Control Union. Crafted from recyclable glass, the bottle features a sustainably sourced natural cork stopper and compostable tamper-proof seal. By presenting our gin in a plastic-free package and supporting marine conservation projects, we aim to preserve the environment of mermaids.

                      The 100% TCA-free natural cork is crafted from sustainably sourced Portugese cork by Croxons

                      NECK SEAL

                      The tamperproof neck seal is made from corn and potato starch and composts in food waste recycling within 6-12 weeks plus the label on the neck, stamped with the mythical mermaid, is made from recyclable, biodegradable paper by Daymark!

                      THE BOTTLE

                      The beautiful glass bottle itself is reusable and recyclable (so many amazing reuses for these!) and the water-based decorative paint is applied by Dekor Glass, who are part of the EU ETS system, which designates a cap on the total amount of greenhouse gases that can be emitted!

                      SUPPLY CHAIN
                      Mermaid packaging boxes are designed specifically to fit and protect 6 bottles, without the need for bubble wrap, and they don't use any sellotape either! They also step further into the supply chain and ask their suppliers to reuse the boxes as many times as possible!

                      About Isle Of Wight Distillery

                      "Living on an island, our connection to nature is reinforced daily. We need to be in tune with the changing seasons to harvest and preserve the rock samphire that gives our gin its distinctive taste. We forage when the rock samphire is at its fragrant peak, in the late spring. These brief seasonal appearances are always a flurry of activity at the Isle of Wight Distillery and we harvest with care, with an eye to preserving this native plant for the next season.

                      We see the effects of sea pollution and climate change firsthand, with plastic washing up on our idyllic beaches daily. So the idea of putting another product into the world that adds to this pollution was never an option for us. We believe it’s essential to create beautiful products that don’t cause harm to the natural world around us."
