The sleek outlines and varied texture mean that every single pair of these wooden sunglasses are truly unique, with a luxury feel that only wood can bring. Each pair is carefully finished with adjustable acetate temple ends to make the fitting more comfortable. Precision German OBE sprung hinges give the arms flexibility and to ensure the perfect fit.

    BIRD B CORP & CHARITIES

    Dropdown 2:

    B CORP

In April 2020 Bird became the first UK eyewear company to become a certified B Corp. A company that meets the highest standards of social and environmental impact.

Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit, and are committed to prioritising the environment and society in the way they do business. They are third party verified and legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. Making a public statement that we are a force for good.

    SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES IN MALAWI

598 million people in Africa have no access to electricity. Without electricity families have no clean source of light, leaving millions to rely on expensive and dangerous alternatives. Many use homemade kerosene lamps which are a poor source of light; they emit toxic black smoke, eat up to 15% of a family’s income and are extremely hazardous.

For every pair sold we distribute solar light to remote communities in Africa through our Share Your Sun partnership with SolarAid.

    Always #ShareYourSun

Dropdown Heading 3: BIRD RECYCLING PROGRAM
            Dropdown 3:

Bird frames are built to last and they consider their whole life cycle when designing them. Their bamboo and 100% wooden frames can be composted, while the laminated wood/aluminium frames can be separated and aluminium layers (10% of the frame) can be recycled as normal. Bird can often re-use elements of frames such as arms and work with a local UK frame repair company to minimise wastage.

Our flock can take advantage of our recycling programme. Simply send your frame back for recycling and get a 50% discount on your next pair.

              About Find Your Birds

              About the brand:

"For us it’s about reframing what really matters; people and planet. Seeking out the best sustainable materials for our frames, including certified woods, bio-based acetate, renewable cork and recycled aluminium, we create exceptional designs and focus obsessively on quality.

Every pair of Birds gives back through our Share Your Sun partnership with SolarAid. Helping to distribute solar light to families in Zambia and Malawi, replacing the use of fossil fuel burning lamps.

We became the first B Corp Certified eyewear brand in the UK, and continue to pioneer change in the eyewear industry.

Wearing Birds leaves you looking great and helps bring about change."

              SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS

"A key aspect of our supply chain is understanding where raw material is sourced and the supply chain that supports it. Our suppliers meet the highest standards of manufacturing, including ISO9001 certifications, FDA and CE compliance, including FSC certifications for wood. None of our materials are derived from animals or exploit animals in any form. All Birds are considered vegan and animal cruelty free.

Our frames use Bio-acetate which is better for the environment and biodegradable. Unlike traditional acetate, bio-acetate is made without the use oil-based plasticisers.

Plant based dyes are used in our colouring of woods and our eco-cork cases have been certified to conform to ROHS directive and ISO 17226. To top things off, we also make our cleaning cloths from recycled plastic bottles."
